Plymouth Rock, MA

1620. This is the number engraved on a stone in a special location at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts.

The number is significant as it marks the year the very first pilgrims landed in the New World, when they took their very first steps at what is now called Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts.

As I stood there looking at the engraved rock, the historical value of Plymouth Rock sank into me. It all began with the pilgrims for my adopted country. It is right to remember 1620 and more than appropriate to maintain the special place that commemorates it.

About Dee Gilbert

I am one half of a couple who loves to travel; the half who likes to write and share travel experiences. Reading about travelers' experiences inspire me more to see the world. So, I thought, perhaps in my own little way I could inspire others, too. :)
