Three Line Tales: Moving On Is Hard To Do

Reminders of her are everywhere, even at his niece’s sixth birthday party! He can’t forget; when at each turn, something brings thoughts of her – a book, a flower, a cupcake.

“Uncle Leo, have a cupcake!” His niece beamed up at him, her eyes shining with excitement and joy. “I love cupcakes! Vanilla is my favorite!!” She said, taking a big bite of the soft spongy cake. “This is my bestest birthday, ever!” Declaring that, she twirled and ran towards her friends.

Leo sighed. Melancholy crept into his heart. It was her favorite, too. The woman who shattered his world. It frustrates him, being in this situation. Why can’t he move on, like Taylor Swift?
