Chatham lighthouse is one of Cape Cod’s attractions. Constructed in 1808, it is still fully functional having been upgraded to automatic electric powered lights from a lard-fueled one. It is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The view at Chatham Light Station is beautiful! Visitors may gaze at the Atlantic ocean from a viewing area or frolic at the white sand beach.
The U.S. Coast Guard schedules free lighthouse tours. The dates and times are found at the Chatham Chamber of Commerce website.
If you like lighthouses, you may want to stop by for a free tour and a view of the Atlantic.
