The Ruins is a mansion built by a sugar baron in the island of Negros in the Philippines as a token of love for his wife. It was intentionally burned during the Japanese Occupation to prevent the invaders from using it as their headquarters. A descendant of the baron turned the mansion into a museum. It is a popular attraction in Negros Occidental.

About Dee Gilbert

I am one half of a couple who loves to travel; the half who likes to write and share travel experiences. Reading about travelers' experiences inspire me more to see the world. So, I thought, perhaps in my own little way I could inspire others, too. :)
