Free Friday: No Fare Buses from Airport Hotels To Heathrow

Visiting London soon?

Why spend pounds (£) on bus fare to and from Heathrow International Airport when one can get there for free? That is, if one is staying at an Airport Hotel.

My hubby and I stayed at the Renaissance. A bus stop is right in front of it, which made utilizing the free local buses easy.

From Renaissance to Terminals 1,2, and 3 one can take local buses 105, 111, and 140; to Terminal 4 take bus 555; and to Terminal 5 take bus 423.

The London Toolkit has a list of hotels with free local buses.

The Underground’s Picadilly Line runs through each terminal. It’s the cost saving way to get to the city.

If you are in central London, the train from Victoria Station to Gatwick is also easy and quick (I don’t know about the other airports). I also don’t know if she was supposed to do it, but we bought our tickets at the counter [rather through a machine], and the clerk gave four of us a group discount.
