Chimney Rock NHS

Back in the 1800’s when hordes of immigrants traveled West, they looked to a landmark to tell them they were halfway to their destinations. That landmark is Chimney Rock located in Morrill County, Nebraska.

Today, Chimney Rock is less taller than it was due to erosion and lightning. It is a National Historic Site affiliated with the National Park Service, but maintained by the Nebraska State Historical Society.

About Dee Gilbert

I am one half of a couple who loves to travel; the half who likes to write and share travel experiences. Reading about travelers' experiences inspire me more to see the world. So, I thought, perhaps in my own little way I could inspire others, too. :)
