About Dee Gilbert

I am one half of a couple who loves to travel; the half who likes to write and share travel experiences. Reading about travelers' experiences inspire me more to see the world. So, I thought, perhaps in my own little way I could inspire others, too. :)

It was good to see this; I regret very much we couldn’t face the lines when we were in Rome and did not go in. On the other hand, as a hitchiking student, I was able to go right up to it in 1967 before the attack forced them to put it behind glass. It was curtained off the next day for a Mass, and just as I was about to take a peak behind the curtains, they opened up, and the Pope was carried out on a chair.
