Tasty Tuesday: Pizza Margherita?

I thought that Pizza Margherita has tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and basil. But the couple of times we ordered Pizza Margherita in Italy, there weren’t any visible basil!

When we ordered Margherita with prosciutto in Pompeii, no basil either.

These pizzas may not be what I thought Margherita is, but they were good!

The fault lies in the pizza, not your definition. The red, white and green honored both the Italian flag and Queen Margherita.
