Tasty Tuesday: Pastel de nata

Bom dia!

I’m back from my Portugal trip which was too quick! Hubby didn’t want to leave. Ha! Ha!

One of the things I learned is that the Portuguese love egg-based desserts (my kind of people 😊). An ubiquitous pastry in Portugal is pastel de nata, plural, pastéis de nata, a.k.a, pastel de Belém. It is an egg tart pastry sold in almost every bakery. It’s delicious! Our hotel in Lisbon served Portuguese pastries at their buffet breakfast. So I had one for breakfast for three days! They’re the mini ones, so less calories. I kept telling myself. 😬

When in Portugal, try the pastel de nata to find out why the Portuguese love it.
You may love it, too!

Alie was under the weather when our ship stopped in Lisbon, so I was on my own for my first pastel de Belém. I made her get off the ship in Funchall [also Portugese] just to try one.
