There’s something about bridges that fascinate people. It could be their size, shape, color, or the history behind them. I’m a fan of bridges. They make it easier to get from one place to another. Here are the bridges that made an impression on me.

Talmadge Memorial Bridge in Savannah, Georgia

Talmadge is a cable-stayed bridge it has one or moretowers from which cables support the bridge deck.

John O’Connell Bridge in Sitka, Alaska

This bridge is also a cable-stayed bridge.

Arthur Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, South Carolina

Another cable-stayed bridge.

Throgs Neck Bridge in Bronx, New York

Throgs Neck is a suspension bridge, a type of bridge in which the deck is hung below suspension cables on vertical suspenders.

Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Benjamin Franklin Bridge is also a suspension bridge.

Fire Island Inlet Bridge in Fire Island, New York

Fire Island Inlet Bridge is a steel bridge.

And these two bridges are two of the most popular in the world.

Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California

Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge.

Tower Bridge in London, United Kingdom

Tower bridge is a draw bridge and a suspension bridge.

Visually impressive, aren’t they?

Love the Throgs Neck photo too! Nice! I use a similar shot for my blog’s main page and it’s eerie how similar the sky color is in our photos.
