Serene Stehekin

Stehekin is the most serene place I had ever visited. With the gentle lap of lake water nearby and the majestic mountains at every turn, Stehekin inspires communion with nature. The scene that popped in my mind when I read this week’s photo challenge is a cabin surrounded by pines and a mountain in the background.I can imagine myself sitting on one of the benches in the yard reading a book while sipping on hot mint cocoa. What bliss!Stehekin is part of Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, and it’s a gateway to the rugged mountains of the Cascades in the state of Washington. There is no cellular service at Stehekin, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. It can only be reached by foot, boat, or plane.Nature is the star of the area, and it doesn’t disappoint.Someday I would like to go back and bask in the serenity that Stehekin offers.

About Dee Gilbert

I am one half of a couple who loves to travel; the half who likes to write and share travel experiences. Reading about travelers' experiences inspire me more to see the world. So, I thought, perhaps in my own little way I could inspire others, too. :)
